HOTEL CLOSED - Rebuild in Progress
This Update: 24 April 2012

Progress continues here at the Latimer Hotel with work well underway on the restaurant & bar area. As you can see from the pictures below, the floor slab has been poured, panels are standing and have begun putting the steel framing up.

*Providing the weather doesn’t hamper us this winter, we are on schedule for a tentative opening date, for the restaurant & bar only, of November 2012. A firm date will be made available midyear.

Foundation work continues for the remainder of the hotel with the final slab being poured later this month. The size and scope of the foundation work alone has been a mammoth task in itself and is evidence of our commitment to provide a safe and secure building. To give a general indication, there are approximately 4000m3 of concrete in the piling, floor slab and caps, that’s the equivalent of a 80 km footpath; in other words, a footpath from the Latimer Hotel site almost all the way to Ashburton!

In regards to a timeline for the completion of the hotel, we are still hoping to be fully operational by mid 2013; again being weather dependent.
